Everyone says that inner beauty is more important than outer beauty, but in the society we live in, it isn't. No one gives you the chance to show that you're beautiful on the inside if you aren't on the outside. May be that's the way everything works. Even when it comes to an individual like you and me, we think and don't talk to people who aren't that good looking. Its mentality. I don't know why did this thought come to my head, but I just though of sharing it you GUYS!!

So this time lets explore another fashion street in Mumbai. What can be more exciting than FASHION STREET in Churchgate! Fashion Street is around 15minutes away from the station. This is a huge lane of shops, so many shops. Like how far I looked I could see only shops right from shoes to jense to tops to accessories you get everything for a very low price. "SHOULD BE EXCELLENT WITH YOUR BARGAINING SKILLS". You get all kind of fashionable clothes. The street is not only famous among the girls but even among the guys. I saw more guys shopping than girls. That was definitely wonder!!

Street shopping can look cheap if you don't buy the right thing and carry it off well. As shopping is what I have been made for, I keep shopping sometimes window shopping to check what's new and creating fashion. I was seriously surprised to see some great stuff which I have seen in good branded shops displayed.

The whole walk was seriously tiring. I took 2hours to walk just half the street. I planned to keep something for the next time. PHEEEEWWWW !!! But I did enjoy a lot. Street shopping is always fun and cost effective. Sometimes comprising on quality is okay. Lets put this the other way buying something worth rupees 150 and wearing it for 15times is "PAISA VASOOL". 

Its not always about buying brands!!

Not everybody likes clothes which are branded. My mom, she gets so irritated sometimes with the clothes that she forgets I m smart enough to buy what I will and can wear. Mothers are more concerned when it comes to those hippie wear. Carrying that look and attitude is not everybody's cup of tea. I cannot carry it without looking ugly. Sometimes what you see the mannequin wearing is not what you can wear, and even if you wear it how comfortably will you carry it is another question.

The only reason why mom took me for shopping is I wanted to buy a good skirt. When I told her this she wanted to keep a check on how short the skirt will be? Typical "MOMMY". So we both go to Lokhandwala that's in Anderi. Another great shopping destination but really costly. These street shops even have great brands like MADAME, LEVIS, JOCKEY. But the shop which attracted my eye ball was "peppertree". Its funky, hippie, creative and colorful. It does not display the usual clothes, its more goa. (I guess you understand what I mean) The best part of taking mom to such shopping destination is that she understands the latest trend and then don't stop me from buying it, instead encourages me to buy.

After shopping a lot from this place we moved on to next store "STREET SOUL". The place is not "SASTA" as the name suggest. The best part of shopping here is there is loads of creativity around. The shop holder keeps experimenting and creates liking among their customers. They have vivid combination.

I find this smart denim skirt (mom makes faces). Unfortunately I did not like the fit of the skirt and fortunately mom started pushing me to buy it. Mom said they look good, but I wasn't happy. The most contradicting statement and scandal arises when mom talks about her days, when she wore a skirt and got out of the house. I questioned her whether grandpa was okay with it? She said with whole confidence of course YES. The only thought that came to my mind was why the hell M I stopped from wearing it. When I asked mom she had no answer to it!

This shopping experience was more of learning experience about PARENTS AND THEIR STRATEGIES. I returned home with many bags but more than that too many questions in my head.

 

Lets burn some calories!!

Mom said your weight is increasing, what do you plan to do with it?? I said will workout. Mom started laughing on me. :( I asked why what happened?? what's the matter with you??  she said I know what do you "MEAN" by workout. A girl's life is so stressful, she has to look best along with that multi task. Its not easy at all. The only place where I can workout is a place full of shopping and a great scope for shopping along with bargain.

I and a friend of mine had to pick up clothes for independence day party. It wasn't a "party party" a small get together. But Yes all these occasion do call out for shopping. I was really bored of shopping in Malad! since so many days I have gone through and scanned each and every corner of Malad right from malls to roads. I decided to go to Anderi. There is a place called Manish market which located near 4 bungalows market. It is completely dedicated to girls, with very few shops for guys.

This place is for cost effective shopping. There are no brands there, its something very close to street shopping. You can pick up tops for 100 and 120 with latest trends. You get all the latest variety of jense, shorts, tops, footwear. I wanted to pickup something in white color, but not exactly plain. Along with that I did pickup many other tops.

And yes the purpose of shopping was definitely served. firstly I get to wear something what I have been looking for and second of all I burn lots of calories by walking down the street, doing some window shopping, again coming back to the same shop, buying it, bargaining and in the end landing up doing extra shopping.

NO MATTER HOW YOU FEEL, GET UP, DRESS UP AND SHOW UP

People say beauty lies within the heart, I feel people who say that are too lazy to dress up and look good. Its not that you always have to be decked up, but yes you need to look presentable. First impression is the last impression, and in today's world we are known by how we carry yourself than what good deeds have we done. Even looking simple can be elegant and smart. A smart pair of used jense and a shirt with good fit is equally  capable of catching too many eyeballs. If you wear the latest style but you aren't capable enough to carry it then a person might turn out to look cheap. There is a very thin line between looking sexy and cheap. Everybody wants to look attractive and in that bargain they flaunt their assets more than required especially girls. If you think you are looking sexy you need to hold your thinking there and try to think from a guy's perceptive.

 

 

Clothes should be worn according to the occasion and place. You cannot wear a shiny mini skirt and walk in any reputed office. Every plan and occasion have a fixed set of clothing which needs to be followed. Clothes blunder can easily catch attention. people who are fat are often conscious about how they look and how fat they are? Its very important that you feel good about yourself. When you do that then you will start loving yourself and when you love yourself, you choose the best.

 

 

 

Clothes define your personality. After looking at you and your clothes people will start making assumptions. They will categories you!! (and yes I don't think you want to lack behind in that) Love yourself the way you are and you expect other to do. Accept your own flaws, try to work on them. Everything is not about looks but yes ALWAYS REMEMBER THE FIRST THING IS ALWAYS ABOUT PRESENTATION. BE SELF LOVING AND NOT SELF OBSESSED. LOVE YOURSELF AND YOUR LIFE.  

 

 

A hectic day comes to an end with shopping!!

Phewww!! August first week becomes too hectic because of assignment submissions. People go drinking to release stress but I go shopping. I can see the excitement of Ramzan, too many colors, too good aroma, too many lighting AAAhhhhhhh I wish I could be there forever staring at it, but I couldn't I had a lengthy list of shopping. August will be fun with so many birthdays, festivals and anniversary. Each occasion calls for shopping, but as mom has already warned me I had to be really cost effective, so I decided to check out local market. Malad shopping area is huge last time I checked out Natraj market so this time I decided to shop at Malad Municipality market ( DO NOT GO BY THE NAME). The variety at this place can turn down any good mall in Mumbai. This place is huge, completely traditional very and really very reasonable. By any chance if you are wondering why am I so much into traditional clothes its because its festive time and good traditional clothes are must.

So like "EVERY GOOD GIRL" even I wanted to save money and buy loadsssssssss....... (I wonder people who hate shopping miss on so much) The time I entered this place I went GAGA over the clothes. The clothes were not really my type but yes I know how to find what I want. After all the pushing and pulling I finally found a shop which was very jazzy, but they did have simple and sober clothes. I have a special liking towards not over the top clothes. I don't say they don't look good, They look good during the festivals, but you cannot wear it everywhere. I genuinely believe in wearing it as many times as I can. The most famous BOMBAYA PHRASE "PAISA WASOOL KARNA" people who understand this will connect to what I mean. It just means to use it so much that whatever you have invested (money) you get it back in terms of pleasure.

I wanted to buy something unique which I did not ever have. And the best part about traditional clothes are whatever you buy, it would never be the same. I tried out few Sarees and mom just loved them so she decided to pick it up for herself. The only reason I avoid shopping with mom is because of this, she always picks up what I like. She just loves my choice (I feel great about my self). We went to other shop bought few from there and decided to leave for home. After loads of shopping, bargaining, walking daughter and mother returned home. I m always ready to shop and so is mom. The only and only thing we agree on apart from my choice. This is from where I get the genes for shopping so much.
